Mabel came entirely out of the Thrifty Shopper Thrift Store. She was part of a recycled project, which then inspired an entire recycled collection. I decided to take a bunch of items that scream "Masculine" and run from there... I spent a lot of time that year studying androgyny and the masculine and feminine roles in fashion. I attempted to play an eye trick on my audience by taking typically "male" garments and present them in a "feminine" manner. This furthered my findings that shape is such a strong basis for what we consider masculine or feminine.
